So I've been toying with the idea of buying a house. I keep going back a forth on if it's a good idea or not. The first real issue is where to buy the house. As a teacher you'd like to think you job is safe but in a non-core subject it's not. What if I lose my job and can't find anything around the new house? The second thing is cost of repair on a house. Do I have the money to fix things when they go out? The answer is no but I might if I'm getting a tax break for owning a home. Owning a house gives me the ability to do what I want. No pet deposit required and I can pant things any color I'd like. I get to do my own lawn and let the dog run around in the back yard. If I can afford a nice house; I can even have a man cave. I guess there is no right answer to the question. I just need to either do it or don't. I guess I'm just tired of wasting money on an apartment and getting nothing back.
